Phao Student Ministries

ABOUT PHAO

Phao Student Ministries is the youth ministry of CastletonUMC. The name, Phao Student Ministries, comes from the Greek word “phao” which means “to shine” and is spelled with the phi alpha omega Greek symbols.

The idea behind this name and ministry is to challenge students to live a life with Christ that “shines” in every aspect of their lives, as Paul says in Philippians 2:15-16, “…as you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life. This ministry helps students “shine like stars” by encouraging, challenging, and helping students grow in their relationship with Christ through fellowship, Bible study, and worship. The goal of this ministry is to prepare and equip students to share the love of Christ with others, and to have their light shine so bright that those they come in contact with can’t help but see Christ in their lives.

Phao Student Ministries is open to ALL students in 5th grade through 12th grade.
